DUCT CLEANING

It takes at least four hours to clean the ductwork in an average home. In many cases it takes as long as eight hours. Hooking up a four inch house to a truck mounted vacuum cleaner and removing the registers and spraying the register boots with compressed air will not clean your ductwork. It is our opinion if the duct cleaning does not get the dirt out it is a waste of money.

Most of the dirt is in the return air ductwork. All of the ductwork must be scrubbed with brushes or high velocity compressed air to get the dirt loose. If the ductwork is lined with insulation on the inside it is very difficult to clean the duct. Some of the duct cleaning companies have a video camera that goes through the ductwork so they and you can tell when the ductwork is clean. The National Air Duct Cleaners Association (NADCA) has guidelines for cleaning ductwork. The duct cleaning company may be a member, but it is more important that they actually follow the (NADCA) guidelines and procedures when cleaning ductwork.

At the present time we do not clean ductwork.
