DRYER FIRE HAZARD
Do not use the white plastic flexible vent
tubing for your clothes dryer. This is one of the most likely
items to burn your house down. Foil type flexible vent tubing is also
not allowed. Dryer manufacturers recommend the heavy gauge flexible metal
pipe. Straight metal
pipe with adjustable elbows works the best. Do not use rivets or
screws to attach
the pipe or connect pieces together. The screws and or pop rivets catch the
lint and cause a fire hazard. We recommend the use of foil tape that
has a backing
that peels off.

Clean the lint filter after every load or two. Do not turn the dryer on and
leave home or go to bed. If there is a fire you want early warning.
Depending upon how much use the drier has, the drier lint around the burner
should be removed from the dryer every one to three years. On older Whirlpool
and Kenmore
dryers there is a panel along the bottom of the dryer that can be opened
and the lint can be vacuumed out. Other dryers require disassembly and you
may
need an appliance service company to clean the lint out of the dryer
The dryer vent should also be inspected and or cleaned every one to three
years depending upon how much the dryer is used.
